Erin-Louise Povey (pictured left with Jesse Metcalfe (Desperate Housewives) at a Lupus function in Los Angeles, US) will pledge her strength, courage and commitment and take that step to fight against lupus in an Australian first to walk from Brisbane to Sydney dressed as an orange butterfly.
With the support of the Lupus Association of NSW Inc, Erin-Louise will walk approximately half of the 1000km trip, starting withthe Story Bridge climb in Brisbane on Sunday, May 9 2010 ahead of World Lupus Day on May 10th. Erin-Louise's journey will culminate with her Sydney Harbour Bridge climb on Sunday, June 13 2010.

Erin-Louise Povey has been steadily making the journey from Brisbane to Sydney in the fight against lupus. Many Australians affected by lupus have joined Erin-Louise along the way to walk some distance with her or just to stop and chat about how relieved they are that someone is getting the word 'lupus' out into the public vocabulary.
At last, Erin-Louise is due to complete her journey when she crosses the Sydney Harbour Bridge (South to North) on Sunday 13th June, 2010!!
Anyone who would like to join in the celebrations and congratulate Erin-Louise for raising awareness of lupus in Australia should congregate on the eastern side of the southern pylon by 11.45am, at the foot of the stairs in Cumberland Street. There will then be a crossing of the Sydney Harbour Bridge meeting up in Bradfield Park NORTH SYDNEY for a formal welcome for Erin-Louise.
The Rotary Club are running a BBQ in Bradfield Park and there will be discounted vouchers for Luna Park and other give-aways to mark the end of this momentous journey.

Erin-Louise Povey is just 26 years old and is living with lupus. Lupus is a chronic incurable auto-immune disease that affects 5 million people worldwide. There is no known cause and consequently no known cure. More People are living with Lupus then Cerebral Palsy, Multiple Sclerosis, AIDS, Sickle Cell Anaemia and Cystic Fibrosis COMBINED!
